Video to MP3
Pull the audio track out of a video and save it as an MP3 at the bitrate you choose.
How it works
- 1
Drop in a video file — it stays on your device, nothing is uploaded.
- 2
Choose a bitrate and channel layout for the MP3 output.
- 3
Extract the audio and download the MP3.
Questions
What happens if the video has no audio?
The tool checks for an audio track before doing any work. If none is found, it tells you plainly instead of producing an empty or silent file.
Which video formats work?
MP4, WebM, and MOV work in most browsers. The tool decodes the audio track using your browser's built-in decoder, so support depends on what your browser can handle.
What is the MP3 encoder used here?
MP3 encoding uses the open-source lamejs library (LGPL-3.0). The browser's own WebCodecs does not expose an MP3 encoder, so a JavaScript encoder is needed. lamejs is loaded as its own separate chunk and is never modified.
Does my video get uploaded?
No. The video is decoded entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.
More video tools
Capture Video Frame
Grab a still image from any moment in a video and save it as a PNG, JPEG or WebP.
Convert Video
Change a video's container format and codec — pick MP4 or WebM and the quality level that suits your needs.
Compress Video
Reduce a video's file size by targeting a lower bitrate and, optionally, a smaller frame size — and see exactly how many bytes you saved.
Rotate Video
Spin a video 90°, 180°, or 270° — uses lossless metadata when the container supports it.
Flip Video
Mirror a video horizontally or vertically to correct its orientation or create a reflection effect.
Video to GIF
Turn a section of any video into an animated GIF, with control over frame rate, output size and colour depth.
GIF to MP4
Convert an animated GIF to an MP4 video — usually far smaller than the source GIF and compatible everywhere.
