Questions
Which symbology should I choose?
Code 128 works for most general text and warehouse labels. EAN-13 and UPC-A are the standard formats for retail products. QR Code handles URLs and arbitrary text in a compact square; Data Matrix is popular in healthcare and electronics traceability.
Why does EAN-13, EAN-8, or UPC-A validation fail?
These formats include a check digit as the last digit, calculated from the preceding digits. If yours doesn't match, the tool tells you what the correct final digit should be so you can fix the value.
PNG or SVG — which should I use?
SVG stays sharp at any size and is the best choice for print or vector workflows. PNG is a raster image at a fixed pixel size; use it when your target application doesn't accept SVG.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. Barcode generation runs entirely in your browser using the bwip-js library. Nothing you enter leaves your device.
