View Audio Metadata

See an audio file's duration, codec, sample rate, channel count, bitrate, and embedded ID3 tags in one clean table.

How it works

  1. 1

Drop an audio file onto the upload area and click View metadata.

  2. 2

The tool reads the file's container properties and decodes any embedded ID3 tags.

  3. 3

Missing fields appear as "Not set" — they were simply not recorded in the file.

Questions

Which audio formats does this tool support?

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, and AAC work in most browsers. FLAC and less common formats depend on what your browser can open.

What are ID3 tags?

ID3 tags are chunks of text embedded in an audio file that describe the content: title, artist, album, year, genre, and track number. They are most common in MP3 files but appear in other formats too.

Why do some fields say "Not set"?

Every metadata field is optional. Files exported from basic recorders, audio rips without tagging, or files that have been stripped of metadata will show "Not set" for those fields.

Is my audio file uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is read entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device.
