Change Speed
Speed up or slow down an audio file by resampling it — note that pitch changes along with tempo.
How it works
- 1
Drop in an audio file — it stays on your device, nothing is uploaded.
- 2
Drag the speed slider to your target rate, then click Change speed.
- 3
Download the result. Use a pitch-correction tool if you need to preserve pitch.
Questions
Does changing speed also change pitch?
Yes. This tool resamples the audio, which is the same as playing a tape faster or slower — pitch rises when you speed up and falls when you slow down. If you need tempo without pitch change you will need a dedicated time-stretch tool.
What speeds are supported?
Between 0.25× (quarter speed) and 4× (four times the original speed).
Does my audio file get uploaded?
No. The resampling runs entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
Why is the output a WAV file?
WAV is a lossless format the browser can write without a separate encoder. You can convert it to MP3 or another format using a converter tool.
Which audio formats can I use as input?
Any format your browser can decode — MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG, and M4A work in most browsers. The tool will report an error if a format is not supported.
