Questions

Which input formats work?

Any format your browser can decode — typically MP3, AAC, Opus, WAV, OGG, and the audio track of MP4 or WebM video. Unusual or proprietary codecs may not be supported, and the tool will explain what went wrong rather than failing silently.

When should I choose mono?

Mono halves the file size and is ideal for speech recordings where left-right separation adds no value. Choose stereo to preserve the full spatial information.

What does the sample rate setting do?

The sample rate is how many audio snapshots are captured per second. 44 100 Hz is CD quality; 48 000 Hz matches most video production; 22 050 Hz keeps file size small for speech.

Does my file get uploaded anywhere?

No. All decoding and encoding happen entirely in your browser. Your audio never leaves your device.
