Remove Image Metadata
Strip EXIF, GPS coordinates, and other embedded data from an image before sharing it, without altering the picture itself.
How it works
- 1
Drop an image onto the upload area and click Strip metadata.
- 2
For JPEG files, embedded EXIF data is removed directly from the file structure — the compressed pixels are not touched.
- 3
For PNG, WebP, and other formats, the image is drawn to a canvas and re-encoded, which discards metadata as a side effect.
Questions
Will my JPEG photo lose quality?
No. For JPEG files the tool removes EXIF markers from the file structure without decoding or re-compressing the image data. The pixels are bit-identical before and after stripping.
What happens with PNG, WebP, or other formats?
These formats are decoded and then re-encoded via the browser's canvas, which removes metadata as a side-effect. Re-encoding PNG is lossless; WebP may differ very slightly from the original because browser encoders vary. The FAQ on the EXIF Reader page explains what data is inside the file before you strip it.
Which data is removed?
For JPEG: the EXIF APP1 segment, which typically contains camera make and model, GPS coordinates, exposure settings, date taken, and orientation. For canvas-re-encoded formats: all metadata the browser does not explicitly carry over, which is usually everything.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. All processing happens in your browser. Your image bytes never leave your device.

ICO Converter
Build a multi-size .ico file from a PNG or JPG, choosing which pixel sizes to include — ideal for application icons and browser favicons.
Favicon Generator
Generate a full favicon set from one image: a three-size ICO, an Apple touch icon, PWA icons, a webmanifest, and the HTML.
SVG Converter
Rasterize an SVG file to PNG, JPEG or WebP at a scale factor you choose. The result is a pixel image — not editable vector paths.
SVG to JPG
Convert an SVG to a JPEG image at the export scale you set, composited onto a solid background colour — because JPEG has no transparency.
Adjust Brightness
Lighten or darken an image by shifting every pixel's brightness up or down with a single slider.
Adjust Contrast
Increase or reduce the difference between light and dark areas to make an image pop or flatten it.
Adjust Saturation
Boost or reduce the intensity of colours in an image, all the way from vivid to greyscale.
Rotate Hue
Shift every colour in an image around the hue wheel to change the overall colour cast.
