How it works

  1. 1

Drop any image onto the upload area. PNG, JPEG, WebP and most other browser-supported formats are accepted.

  2. 2

Use the Block size slider to control how large each mosaic square is — 2 is almost imperceptible, 64 gives a bold blocky look.

  3. 3

Choose an output format, then click Pixelate to download the result. The tool replaces each block with its average colour, so edges within a block are intentionally lost.

Questions

How does the pixelation work?

The image is divided into non-overlapping square blocks of the chosen size. Each block's red, green and blue channels are averaged, and every pixel in the block is then set to that average colour. Pixels at the right and bottom edges that do not fill a complete block are averaged together as a smaller partial block.

Can I use this to censor sensitive areas?

Yes, this is a common use. For strong censoring, use a block size of 20 or larger. Keep in mind that pixelation is not a reversible operation — the original detail cannot be recovered from the output — but for truly sensitive data you should consider a more robust redaction method.

Is transparency preserved?

Yes. The alpha value of each pixel is kept as-is; only the colour channels (RGB) are averaged within each block.

What is the block size range?

The slider goes from 2 to 64 pixels per side. Values below 2 would have no visible effect, so 2 is the minimum. Very large blocks on a small image may produce only a handful of distinct squares.

Does the image get uploaded anywhere?

No. The pixelation runs entirely inside your browser using your device. Your file is never sent to a server.

ICO Converter

ICO Converter

Build a multi-size .ico file from a PNG or JPG, choosing which pixel sizes to include — ideal for application icons and browser favicons.

Favicon Generator

Favicon Generator

Generate a full favicon set from one image: a three-size ICO, an Apple touch icon, PWA icons, a webmanifest, and the HTML.

SVG Converter

SVG Converter

Rasterize an SVG file to PNG, JPEG or WebP at a scale factor you choose. The result is a pixel image — not editable vector paths.

SVG to JPG

SVG to JPG

Convert an SVG to a JPEG image at the export scale you set, composited onto a solid background colour — because JPEG has no transparency.

Adjust Brightness

Adjust Brightness

Lighten or darken an image by shifting every pixel's brightness up or down with a single slider.

Adjust Contrast

Adjust Contrast

Increase or reduce the difference between light and dark areas to make an image pop or flatten it.

Adjust Saturation

Adjust Saturation

Boost or reduce the intensity of colours in an image, all the way from vivid to greyscale.

Rotate Hue

Rotate Hue

Shift every colour in an image around the hue wheel to change the overall colour cast.
