Compress Image
Shrink an image file by choosing a quality level or a target file size, and see the honest before/after saving.
How it works
- 1
Drop your image and choose a mode: quality level lets you set how much compression to apply; target file size makes the compressor aim for a specific KB.
- 2
Optionally set a maximum dimension to scale down very large images before compression, or switch the output format to WebP for better ratios.
- 3
Click Compress Image. The result shows the exact before-and-after file sizes, and an honest note if the target could not be reached.
Questions
What happens when the compressor cannot hit my target size?
The tool tells you plainly. The image content sets a floor — you cannot losslessly compress a high-detail photograph to 10 KB without severe artefacts. When the target is missed, try lowering the max dimension or switching to WebP output.
Which format should I choose?
WebP gives the best compression ratios for both photos and graphics and is supported by all modern browsers. JPEG is safer for email or systems that do not support WebP. Keeping the original format avoids a re-encode when you only need a size reduction.
Does the image leave my device?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser. No file bytes are ever sent to a server.
Why does the file sometimes get larger after compression?
If the image was already well-optimised, forcing another encode can add overhead. The tool reports this honestly rather than hiding the increase. Try a different format or skip compression if the file is already small.

Generate a full favicon set from one image: a three-size ICO, an Apple touch icon, PWA icons, a webmanifest, and the HTML.
SVG Converter
Rasterize an SVG file to PNG, JPEG or WebP at a scale factor you choose. The result is a pixel image — not editable vector paths.
SVG to JPG
Convert an SVG to a JPEG image at the export scale you set, composited onto a solid background colour — because JPEG has no transparency.
Adjust Brightness
Lighten or darken an image by shifting every pixel's brightness up or down with a single slider.
Adjust Contrast
Increase or reduce the difference between light and dark areas to make an image pop or flatten it.
Adjust Saturation
Boost or reduce the intensity of colours in an image, all the way from vivid to greyscale.
Rotate Hue
Shift every colour in an image around the hue wheel to change the overall colour cast.
