Questions
What is PDF metadata?
PDF metadata is a set of properties embedded in the file: title, author, the software that created or converted it, and timestamps. Readers, search engines and document-management systems all read these fields.
Why do some fields say "Not set"?
The PDF specification makes every Info field optional. Many PDFs — especially scans or files exported from basic tools — leave some or all fields blank.
Can I view metadata for an encrypted PDF?
Yes. The Info dictionary sits in the unencrypted part of a PDF file, so the tool can read it even when the content requires a password.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is read entirely in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
