Can this tool crack an unknown password?
No. This tool removes a password you already know. It cannot guess or brute-force a password you have lost.
Why do I need to enter the password if the goal is to remove it?
The PDF standard requires the correct password to decrypt the file before its contents can be read or restructured. Without it, the encrypted data cannot be accessed.
What if I type the wrong password?
You will see the message "That password did not open this PDF". Double-check the password, including capitalisation, and try again.
The file still asks for a password after I download it — what went wrong?
This can happen when re-saving a password-loaded PDF without truly decrypting it. This tool avoids that trap by copying all pages into a fresh, unencrypted document, so the output should open without any password.
