Remove PDF Metadata

Clear the author, title, dates and other identifying details from your PDF without touching the pages.

How it works

  1. 1

Drop a PDF onto the upload area and click Remove metadata.

  2. 2

The tool copies every page into a fresh document that carries no Info dictionary.

  3. 3

Download the cleaned PDF — title, author, dates and other fields are gone.

Questions

Which fields are removed?

Title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation date and modification date are all cleared. Any XMP metadata packet in the document is also absent from the output because the pages are copied into a brand-new file.

Does removing metadata affect the page content?

No. Only the document properties are cleared. Every page — its text, images and layout — is copied into the output exactly as it was.

Can I remove metadata from a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Remove the password with the Unlock PDF tool first, then use this tool on the unlocked file.

Is my file sent to a server?

No. The PDF is read and processed entirely in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
