Title Case Converter
Format text as a proper title: capitalize significant words and keep small connecting words lowercase.
How it works
- 1
Type or paste your title or heading text into the input area.
- 2
Short connecting words (a, an, the, of, in, on, at, to, for, and, but, or) stay lowercase; every other word is capitalized.
- 3
Copy the formatted result or download it as a text file.
Questions
Which words are kept lowercase?
Articles (a, an, the), prepositions (of, in, on, at, to, for), and coordinating conjunctions (and, but, or) are lowercased — except when they appear at the very start of the title.
What if my title starts with 'a' or 'the'?
The first word of the title is always capitalized regardless of what it is.
Does it change the casing of letters inside a word?
Yes — title case capitalizes the first letter and lowercases the remaining letters of each significant word, so 'QUICK' becomes 'Quick'.
Does my text get sent to a server?
No. Title case conversion runs entirely in your browser and your text stays on your device.
