Password Generator
Create secure random passwords with custom length and character rules, entirely on your device.
How it works
- 1
Pick a length and choose which character types to include using the toggles.
- 2
Press Generate — the password is produced using your browser's cryptographic random number source.
- 3
Copy the password and store it in a password manager. Nothing is saved here.
Questions
How is the password generated?
It uses the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) built into your browser, which provides cryptographically secure randomness — not the weaker Math.random.
What does the strength label mean?
Strength is based on the number of bits of entropy: the longer the password and the larger the character set, the harder it is to guess. Very Strong means over 80 bits of entropy.
Is my password sent anywhere?
No. Every password is generated locally in your browser and never transmitted anywhere.
Should I use symbols for every password?
Symbols increase entropy, but some sites reject certain symbol characters. Try without symbols first; enable them only if the site you are setting the password for accepts them.
