Base64 Decoder
Decode a Base64 string back to readable text, with clear feedback when the input is not valid.
How it works
- 1
Paste a Base64 string into the input — the decoded text appears as you type.
- 2
If the string has invalid characters or incorrect padding, a clear error message tells you what went wrong.
- 3
The decoding happens in your browser; nothing is sent to any server.
Questions
What if my Base64 has line breaks or spaces?
Leading and trailing whitespace is stripped automatically before decoding. Embedded line breaks inside the Base64 string may cause a decoding error; remove them first.
Why does it show an error?
Base64 strings must use only A–Z, a–z, 0–9, +, /, and = for padding. Any other character — or a length that isn't a multiple of four — makes the input invalid.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Decoding happens entirely in your browser. The input never leaves your device.
