Questions
How does auto-detect work?
The tool looks at the first non-whitespace character of your input. A '[' or '{' signals JSON and triggers JSON → CSV; anything else is treated as CSV and converted to JSON.
Are quoted fields with commas or newlines handled correctly?
Yes. The CSV parser treats a field wrapped in double-quotes as a single value, even when it contains commas, semicolons, or embedded line breaks. The output writer applies the same quoting rules.
What JSON shape does CSV to JSON produce?
An array of objects when the header toggle is on (keys come from the first row). An array of arrays when it is off, with every row — including the header — treated as data.
What JSON shape must I give JSON to CSV?
A JSON array of objects — for example [{"name":"Alice","age":"30"}]. One level of nested objects is flattened with dot-separated keys. Arrays of primitives are not supported.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. All conversion happens locally in your browser. Nothing you paste is transmitted to any server.
