JSON Tree Viewer
Explore a JSON document as an interactive collapsible tree — expand and collapse any node.
How it works
- 1
Paste any JSON — an API response, a config file, anything — into the input.
- 2
The document appears as an expandable tree. Click any node to collapse or expand it.
- 3
Deep branches are collapsed after two levels so the overview stays readable.
Questions
How deep can the tree go?
There is no hard limit. All nodes are rendered; only the default-open depth is capped at two levels for readability.
What do the colours mean?
Green is a string, blue is a number, purple is a boolean, and grey is null. Objects and arrays show a count of their children.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. Parsing and rendering happen entirely in your browser; nothing leaves your device.
Can I use this for large JSON files?
Yes, though very large documents may slow down the browser while the tree is being drawn. Collapsing top-level nodes helps.
